Selected work

Three projects, each built end to end — mechanism, electronics, and the code that ties them together.

I like building things that move, sense, and think for themselves — then taking them apart to understand why they work.

I'm a mechanical engineering student at Duke University, currently working toward an aerospace specialization. Most of my time outside class goes into personal hardware projects: an autonomous mecanum-wheel robot with LiDAR mapping I wrote the SLAM stack for myself, a fully custom espresso machine build with its own PCB and firmware, and a tiger enrichment device my team designed under contract for the North Carolina Zoo.

I care about the whole stack of a build — the mechanism, the circuit, and the code that ties them together — and about shipping things that actually work in the physical world, not just in simulation.

Experience & leadership

Roles outside the workshop that shape how I lead and work with people.

2026
Orientation Leader, Duke University
Led a group of 8 incoming students through first-week adjustment and activities, and remain an ongoing mentorship contact for them throughout their time at Duke.
2024 – 2026
Summer Camp Counselor
Led a group of campers through daily activities for three consecutive summers, working specifically with kids with disabilities and ADHD to help them feel at home at camp.
2013 – Present
Volunteer, Silk Hope Catholic Worker
Long-term volunteer at a family-run homeless shelter in Siler City, NC — helping with community meals and household chores, and building relationships with guests across diverse backgrounds.
